Our client, a prominent and highly respected conglomerate with a diversified portfolio of businesses, is seeking a skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join its leadership team in Qatar. This is a key senior finance position, offering the opportunity to play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations, driving performance, and supporting the group’s continued growth and success.

The Financial Controller will be responsible for leading the finance function, ensuring robust financial management, reporting, and control frameworks across the group’s operations. Working closely with senior leadership, the successful candidate will provide strategic insights, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver accurate financial reporting to support effective decision-making.

This role requires a detail-oriented and commercially astute finance professional with strong technical expertise and proven experience in large, complex organisations.

 

  • Oversee and manage the group’s day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Ensure the timely preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and local regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.

  • Lead the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, analysing variances and providing actionable insights to management.

  • Partner with business unit leaders to monitor performance, identify risks and opportunities, and support strategic decision-making.

  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury activities to ensure financial stability and liquidity.

  • Coordinate and oversee the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely completion.

  • Ensure compliance with all tax, regulatory, and statutory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Drive process improvement, automation, and best practices in financial systems and reporting.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to build a culture of accountability and high performance.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA) strongly preferred.

  • 10+ years’ experience in finance and accounting, including at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership/controllership role.

  • Proven background in large, diversified conglomerates, FMCG, retail, or industrial sectors.

  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.

  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and internal controls.

  • Commercially minded with the ability to balance financial discipline and business growth.

  • Hands-on experience with modern ERP/financial systems and reporting tools.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Based in Qatar or open to relocation.
