VA Consulting Group are currently representing a leading retail business in Dubai that is renowned for its innovation, customer-centric approach, and market-leading presence. As they continue to expand, they are seeking a highly experienced and strategic HR Director to drive their people agenda and foster a culture of excellence.

The HR Director will play a pivotal role in leading the human resources function, ensuring alignment with the company’s business objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and programs that enhance employee engagement, talent management, and operational efficiency. This role requires a proactive leader with a deep understanding of the retail sector, workforce planning, and organizational development. The position is responsible for a very large workforce, situated right across the GCC region, so will require an individual with extensive knowledge of managing a similar size.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute HR strategies that support the company's business goals and growth plans.
  • Lead talent acquisition, retention, and succession planning efforts to ensure a high-performing workforce.
  • Oversee employee relations, ensuring a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Design and implement compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain top talent.
  • Drive learning and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and leadership capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with local labour laws and regulations, updating policies as needed.
  • Implement HR technology solutions to streamline processes and improve HR service delivery.
  • Lead organizational development efforts, including change management and workforce planning.
  • Partner with senior management to provide HR insights and data-driven recommendations.
  • Foster a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE labour laws and best HR practices in the retail industry.
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition, performance management, and organizational development.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive change within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and data analytics.
  • CIPD or SHRM certification is a plus.
